Why is the Chrysler Town & Country Minivan is so behind in engine horsepower compared to other minivans?
Whatever happened to Chrysler Town & Country with 170 HP compared to Honda Odyssey's 244 HP & Toyota Sienna's 266 HP. The Chrysler Town & Country minivan is now at the end of the pack of minivans trailing everybody except maybe for Dodge minivan that's also an almost obsolete minivan.
In some ways, yes, the Town and Country has slipped behind a bit in terms of power and amenities... Although, the 3.3 liter engine is the base engine in the T&C. There is the 3.8 liter that makes 200 hp too. While it's still a little bit behind the competition, it's still a pretty decent vehicle. Just wait till later this year when the replacement is introduced. It's already being tested... Word is, it's going to have some gadgetry never before seen - such as electric Stow 'n' Go seats, etc. Thanks to Mercedes for the engineering help I suppose.
Oh, the 4.0 V6 is coming too - with a 6 speed auto.
