The Chevrolet Tahoe is a full size sports utility vehicle which has been sold and produced by General Motors since 1992.  Since it is a full size SUV, the Tahoe does not get very good fuel efficiency. However, the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe does come with various engine options which have an effect on the overall fuel efficiency.

For those drivers looking for more fuel efficiency, the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe can come with a hybrid engine.  The hybrid engine is actually larger than the traditional engine and is a six liter eight cylinder engine.   Fuel efficiency for the hybrid Tahoe is quite impressive as the EPA estimates that it will get 21 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon on the highway.  When upgrading the hybrid Tahoe to four wheel drive, fuel efficiency remains the same.

sounds like the check valve in the fuel pump, which is supposed to prevent the fuel draining back to the tank is not doing its job, unsure if your particular model has a replaceable valve, you may need a new fuel pump to repair the fault. Good luck
