Here are some more information for Ram Truck:

If you have ever thought how people change the rear brakes of their Dodge truck, then this article will explain how. When the truck has been properly tested and it has been found that the rear brakes really need replacement, then a required suggestion is to pick up a phone and call the nearest garage. Here are some options.
The First Option
Make an appointment with the auto mechanic, take your truck over there and tell the mechanic that you want to replace the rear brakes. Keep yourself busy in some reading activity while you wait. This is the easy way to deal with the problem. All that has to be done is write a check or pay through your credit card when the job is done.
The Second Option
In case you decide to do the work in DIY style and you want to replace the rear brakes at home, then you would have to buy the brakes. There are five things which have to be considered: mechanical, sensor, electrical, fluids and drums. It is obviously cheaper to buy and install the brakes at home by yourself rather than taking your Dodge truck to the service center or garage.
If you have ever installed rear brakes, then you will know the basics of doing this task. However it is a little more complicated to change brakes on a Dodge truck. Several aspects have to be covered including calipers, brake cylinder and wheel cylinder. The last aspect to be kept in mind is grease. Plenty of lubrication will be applied so make sure to have it in ample.
Get to Work
First, find a suitable place to work on your Dodge truck. Your garage will probably be the best place to change the brakes, this will keep away your worries about the weather. It will not be suitable to do the task in rain. The cold weather is an advantage for using a heated garage. In case you don't have a garage, then look for a location with a leveled surface, this is for avoiding rolling. The truck would have to be raised on blocks for getting it off the ground and stabilizing it. Then both the rear tires have to be removed. While doing all this, be sure that you are wearing old clothes because this work will get you all greasy.
Some grease would have to be used to loosen the brakes for removing them from the wheelbase. The longer it has been since the last change of brakes, the more difficult it will be removing them. When the rotors have been removed, then they would have to be turned. This would require special equipment. The rotors should be smooth and clean without any uneven surface because it will add to the noise that is disliked at the traffic light. With any luck, you could not continue driving the truck after the brakes started making squealing noises. There is also a possibility that the rotors may have got ruined. In this situation, there will be more expense as the rotors will need replacement.
Fortunately, the purchased brakes come with instruction manual. Putting the new brakes in proper direction is important. The brake fluid and all the brake hoses must be checked. Every model has a different PSI, some have as high as 3000 PSI. So check the model and number of the vehicle. There will definitely be a problem if the brakes are put on backward. If you counter any complications, call the store from where you bought them.
Wrap up
The basic installation is not very difficult. Simply remove the old brakes and apply some grease and replace with new ones. Then put back the tires and the job is done. In case you indulge in problems with the rotors and calipers then a professional has to be called.

Why Should You Choose A Diesel Engine For Your Truck
Often times, people decide to purchase a large truck to haul very heavy loads. If that is not your intention, and you'd like to purchase a truck to drive more like a car (with quick, quiet acceleration), you may want a gasoline engine.
There are three main benefits to this:
Gas engines run smoother
Fuel is easier to find
Gas engines start easier in cold weather
If, however, your intent is to use your truck for towing, you may want to consider a diesel engine. The three main benefits to this are:
Good fuel economy
High mileage
Better for towing
Now, the price of a diesel truck is very high, but it very well may be worth it. They have many benefits, and could very well save you a good deal of money in the end. Benefits vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. You can compare these benefits below:
Ford
In 1994, Ford introduced its international engineered power stroke diesel. This pushed the 3/4 ton and 1 ton truck market to where it is today. Before this, the big one inch gasoline engines made these poorly built diesels barely considerable. Over 70% of super duty Fords were sold with the optional 7.3L V-8 diesel engine from 1994-2002. Because of this engine, Ford became one of the leaders in diesel trucks.
Dodge
In 2002, Ram didn't have enough power with the 245 HP 9.5L, so Dodge promised more powerful engines for the 2500/3500 platform, and they definitely followed through on their promise: the 2500 and 3500 Dodge Ram Heave Duty trucks are the newest ¾ and 1 ton trucks on the road.
The new base engine is the 5.7L gasoline V-8, which revives the well-known, historical Hemi name, as it is the most powerful engine of the group at 345 HP.
Chevrolet/GMC:
Coming standard with GM's 6.0L gas engine V-8 are the GM 2500/3500 twins Silverado HD and Sierra HD. The engine is ideal for ¾ ton trucks where towing isn't a concern. Based on Chevrolet's venerable big block engine are the upgrades that start with the 8.1 gas V-8.
Diesel trucks have proven to be:
Efficient with mileage
Great for towing
Easy on maintenance
Also, you won't need to get them tuned up nearly as much as gasoline engines, because-unlike gasoline engines-diesel engines do not have spark plugs.
If you need or want to haul heavy loads frequently, you should probably stick with diesel, since you can get better mileage (diesel trucks are built to go 250,000 miles more). Because of all these reasons, although diesel trucks tend to cost more, they will end up being well worth the money in the long run.

does anyone know how much$ a transmission will cost on a 1994 dodge ram truck?
I am in the inland empire
depends of if the core is buildable. If it is buildable. figure $1200.00 with a torque conveter. Add any extras: like cooler flushed, u joints, engine or/and transmission mounts, or if you have 4 wheel drive (remove the transfer case) Stay away from dealerships that charge $125 dollars and up and don't offer a nationwide warranty. (if you have a Diesel truck--you will have to add $500-$1000 on to that price)
2010 Dodge Ram Pickup Sport review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car? Can't keep tires on it, but that might be because of a heavy right foot. V8 is thirsty when you drive it like a truck. Around town it's not bad though.
