I noticed my check engine light came on a couple of times when I accellerated quickly passing another vehicle. anyone tried a Jet Performance Chip or Module?

Anyone tried one? Does it really make a difference? I'm thinking about ordering one for my 2006 Silverado V8 5.3L. I already have a K&N intake and replaced my cat back exhaust. I plan on getting headers for it but wanted to see if the chip/module would make a difference first. Any feedback and experience you have is welcomed.

All it will really do is void your 5 year, 100,000 mile power train warranty. So, if you have any issues with the engine, transmission, transfer case, differentials, axles, ECM, or any other power train component, the factory warranty will not cover it. Thats a lot to risk.

Edit to add: It doesnt matter how many "thumbs down" you give-----the first time you have to take your truck to the dealer for a warranty issue, they will run the program parameters, and if they do not match---your powertrain warranty goes out the window. I have voided 4 warranties in the last 2 months for "chip" programming at the dealer where I work. The first thing we check on ANY warranty job claim are the tags in the ECM, and if ANY of the tags are not original, the warranty goes bye-bye. And we know when it has been reprogrammed, then set back to original. There are ways to tell. Its just too much to risk. Dont do it.
