How much can my dodge dakota tow?
I have a 2wd, 3.9L, automatic, sport, v6, 1999, regular cab with canopy dodge dakota. Does anybody know how much it tows? The truck has bunches of different numbers on it for maximum weight, my manual doesn't tell me exactly what it is either. I've heard anywere from 2-8k pounds. I need help!
I have a 99 dakota and it will pull anything you put behind it. However, don't try to pull anything over about 800-1200 lbs without trailor breaks. That is pretty much common sense anyhow. Otherwise you will need to slow down extremely early. Also, make sure that when you are towing, turn off the electric overdrive until you hit the interstate.
