Have you noticed the wave coming out of the silver screen? Bumble Bee is top on a lot of viewers list from the hit movies from the past couple of summers. Patience is a virtue and for those of us that couldn't wait for the concept car from Transformers to come out the and now the wait is long over. Chevrolet released them in the summer of 2009 and they have been one of the top sellers and a definite eye opener ever since. Not that is has been that long but, wow. Chevrolet sure packed as much of a punch as they could in this beauty. 9 out of 10 reviews are more than happy with their decision to go with the Camaro versus other choices available.
There are 5 different choices to make when deciding what package to go with on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe. The five different packages are the LS, 1LT. 2LT, 1SS and the 2SS, ranging from lowest power to the highest. The LS and both the LT's are a 3.6L V6 engines that are reporting 21 mpg and the SS packages are getting 19 mpg. Not a huge difference but if the Camaro was bought for the gas mileage there would be more hybrid cars on the road than Camaros. All of the models come in either Manual or automatic. If you just want to look good and turn some heads then go with the V6. If you want to push your car to the limits go with the V8.
Once the Engine and performance package have been selected you drive home and love it. Maybe you race it a little bit, and win. Then you pull up to another Camaro and lose. This cannot be happening, your mind starts to race trying to find the answers. There has to be a way to make my Camaro faster and more powerful. You are in luck because there are plenty of options available. There are performance chips and tuners, cold air intake systems, performance exhaust systems just to mention a few. There are probably endless possibilities available to accommodate any driving style.
Performance Chips and Tuners reprogram the internal computer to be more efficient. They are also the easiest upgrade to install. If you can read Dr. Seuss you can install a performance chip or tuner. They take about 10 minutes to upload the current program from the Camaro and then download the new program. Most chips and tuners will produce close to the same results, averaging around 20 to 25 extra horses and 1-3 mpg fuel efficiency.
Upgraded Cold Air intakes suck in more cool air than a stock air induction system. By supplying the engine with extra much needed air the engine produces more power. It also runs more efficiently. With efficiency comes better gas mileage as well. Installing a cold air intake system for a Camaro will take approximately 30 minutes. You can definitely hear the difference in the amount of air getting to the engine. Cold air intakes don't give you the world but they will give a 2010 Camaro a little more get up and go. More of that seat of your pants power feeling is always welcome.
The final performance upgrade for now is a Performance Exhaust System. These systems will greatly improve the path for the exhaust gasses coming out of the engine. They will also create a muscular sound that turns heads. Performance exhaust systems generally add an extra 15-20 horse power, and an about 1-3 mpg. Most upgraded Exhaust systems add a little extra curb appeal as well. But some more oomph and a sound more fitting of the car is what most desire when choosing an exhaust.

Ford Diesel Performance
Ford started it and the aftermarket finished it. The Ford Powerstroke Diesel comes from the factory with a lot of power, nice fuel economy and a serious towing capacity. Ford Diesel Performance has been tweaked a lot by the diesel aftermarket, and the Ford Powerstrokes can really be tuned up. We’ll talk today about a few of the common performance upgrades.
The first upgrade that most people do to their ford diesel is the performance chip. Two of the most popular are the Diablosport Predator, and the Edge Juice with Attitude Monitor.
These performance chips function in different ways. The Diablosport Predator is a hand held tuner that plugs into the diagnostic port under the dash, and it loads up a new program to the truck. The Diablosport predator has three power settings, on the top setting it delivers 120 hp and on the economy setting can deliver a twenty five percent increase in fuel efficiency to a conservative driver. The Edge Juice is a module that mounts under the hood and the Attitude Monitor is mounted on the dash. The Edge Juice with Attitude Monitor allows you to adjust the power as you drive which is nice when towing. On the top setting it also delivers 120 hp and on the economy setting gives about a twenty five percent increase in economy as well. The attitude monitor also acts as a full digital gauge set up and is used to monitor important engine parameters. These are some of the most popular Ford diesel performance chips.
Another one of the most popular upgrades is the cold air intake. A Cold air intake is a large cone filter and is sealed away from the hot engine air. Cold air takes up less space and the more air you can get into the engine the higher the percentage of the fuel will get burned. This puts more power at the wheels and allows for better fuel economy.
The other major modification that most people do to their Ford Diesel trucks is a larger diameter and less restrictive exhaust. A less restrictive exhaust is important especially when towing heavy loads. If exhaust gas temperatures climb to high, which can happen fast when towing, damage can be done to the engine. A larger diameter exhaust also relieves back pressure on the engine which allows for better fuel economy as well since the engine doesn’t have to push the exhaust away. The Ford Powerstroke diesel really is built Ford tough and there are many ways to make it even better.

I was wondering if there was a govenor chip on my 1995 ford f150 351w EFI, and if i can remove it.?
i would like to know if my truck has one and if i am able to remove it or would i have to buy a performance chip to replace it?
your only hope would be if hypertech or superchips makes a programmer for your truck. dont be a dummy and get an ebay "chip" and attemp to physically open up your engine controller. reprogram it! check jegs or summit racing, if they dont carry it then your out of luck!
