I have a 98 chevy tahoe with 177,00 miles on it. It will not start hot or cold unless I use ether on it. I have already changed the fuel filter, rotor , spark plugs and cap, spark plug wires. It runs fine after hitting it with ether. So, what could it be? also, runs better with full tank of gas.

You would have to suspect the fuel pump. A fuel pressure gauge would be the best way to see if thats the problem. Next thing i would check is some of the sensors. A scan tool that can do real time is needed for that. You may have a sensor that is giving bad info so its not giving you enough fuel.
