On extended trips or extra long interstate highway commutes, a driver's foot can very easily fall asleep or become fatigued by continuously applying pressure to an automobile's accelerator pedal. As well as fatigue, achieving a continuous and steadily maintained cruising speed is extremely beneficial in fuel management and conservation. Modern cruise control as we know it was invented by blind inventor and mechanical engineer Ralph Teetor in 1945, who had grown tired and frustrated by the way his lawyer would apply and release acceleration when engaged in conversation. Today, automobilists worldwide have come to rely on Teetor's innovative invention, yet many are not fully aware of how to take best advantage of cruise control while maintaining optimal safety and hazard-free cruising.

It is essential to check your local laws, especially when travelling abroad, as many countries have outlawed use of cruise control within city limits. Nearly impossible to be caught breaking this law, but assuredly, local lawmakers have put the law into effect because of unseen hazards that have a history of causing accidents. Cruise control should be employed on long stretches of sparsely populated highway cruising; it is just not so helpful or safe in that jam-packed morning commute. Because of cruise-control's often "set it and forget it" application, driver attentiveness is paramount, especially as driving conditions change. Certain terrain is not advantageous to cruise control application, such as ascending and descending through rolling hills or mountain passes. An automobile's engine will find itself in a state of constant flux as it accelerates and decelerates as the grade changes, wrecking havoc on fuel efficiency efforts, and perhaps even becoming hazardous, causing on occasion uncontrolled descents. Cruise control can most definitely become disadvantageous, even hazardous when inclement weather arises. Concerns have risen recently involving the use of cruise control in slick conditions especially, with many discussing the perils of hydroplaning and cruise control particularly. When in a skid or hydroplaning, a driver's first instinct could be to apply too much pressure to the brake pedal, increasing the skid and loss of control. With cruise employed, this hazard is neither heightened nor lessened, however, driving with it engaged in inclement weather is inadvisable nonetheless simply because of the lack of manual control by the operator.

Cruise control is an excellent tool for keeping speeding under control, increasing fuel efficiency in optimal situations, and for making that long journey a little more comfortable for the driver. As with any tool that could promote driver inattention, it can cause accidents when drivers are distracted, or even hypnotized by the sameness of the approaching asphalt. If involved in an accident with a distracted driver, it is necessary that you and your loved ones are protected by an accident attorney that has experience, education, and intelligence, and that will insure you are dealt with fairly after safety has been assured.

Some Tips To Help You Find Quality BMW Parts And Accessories

If you ask a soccer mom if the car she always desired was the mini van that she's currently driving, the answer would probably be a resounding no. Everyone has a car that they have dreamed of owning their whole lives. Some people like old classics, like a '57 Chevy or a '69 Ford Mustang. Other people, such as those with high aspirations, dream of owning a Maserati or Jaguar. Another luxury car at the top of the list for those who want to tool around in style is the BMW. These cars represent status and those who are fortunate enough to own one, drive it proudly, smiling at all of the admiring glances that they get while on the road. Owning one of these cars can symbolize a dream come true, but sometimes that dream can become a nightmare if the car breaks down and the owner has to find parts for it.

If you are in search of quality parts for your BMW, you want to know where to find the best parts for your model of car. It doesn't matter what you need to replace, whether its engine parts, alternator, transmission, exhaust, or mirrors, you will want to know where to find them at economical prices.

Without a doubt, the best place to get BMW parts is through a certified dealer. You can count on them having the part you need in stock, or they will order the appropriate ones for your car. Despite the quality of service and selection, the prices are a little steep for the average consumer. Still some people choose to purchase their parts directly from the dealer so that they know the parts are really BMW parts and not knock-offs. Nothing is worse than paying top dollar for bargain basement parts. In this case, knowing that they are genuine is definitely worth the price.

If you decide to buy your BMW parts from the dealer, you can count on the knowledge and expertise they can provide you. It goes without saying that the mechanics at the dealership will know more about your car part needs than you, and can even assist you with your replacement needs.

If the out-of-pocket cost is more than you want to pay then maybe you should try purchasing your parts online. The internet has thousands of auto part dealers online who offer BMW parts without the BMW costs. The downside to purchasing online is that you run the risk of buying from a dealer who knows less about BMW parts than you. While you are cruising around on the information super highway, you might want to look around for the "how-to" guide for your vehicle. These guides, while not offering you BMW parts, will let you know how to install them when you get them.

While you are tooling around looking for your BMW parts, you might want to keep your eyes peeled for great deals on fabulous accessories for your BMW. Looking online for your parts and accessories is probably the easiest way to go about it. Take some time to do the research and find the best prices for the necessary parts, you won't regret it. Your BMW and your pocketbook will thank you for all your hard work.

Should i purchase this 1992 BMW 325i with only 34,885 miles for 5995

Features :ABS, Air Conditioning, Alloy Wheels, AM/FM Radio, Bucket Seating, Cassette Radio, Cruise Control, Driver-Side Airbag, Leather Interior, **Low Mileage**, Passenger-Side AirBag, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Power Seats, Power Steering, Power Windows, Rear Window Defroster, Sun Roof, Tilt Wheel

I wasnt to sure if this deal was good or not, i looked up the carfax history and it says it has 14 records, i havent actually paid yet to check out the report, i was just wondering if this bmw was worth getting, I also read other peoples questions and answers about how long a bmw 325 lasts for, so far i've seen lots of answers saying it will last for 200k miles easily, but i am also afraid that since this car only has almost 35k miles, it might have more problems such as kept in a garage for long period of time or just broke down , or been in the shop its whole life getting worked on.

If anyone has any answers or suggestions please let me know.

No, don't get this car.

1) 92 was the first year of the e36 model, and you should never get a first year model, especially one of this age.

2) The price doesn't seem that good.

3) If you like that body shape, you should look into 93+, 92 did not have Vanos. Only 93+ had them, which mean better low end torque.

4) Its low mileage, but some times its better to be driven. You want to make sure the rubber parts have not hardened over time.

If those things don't bother you, then go ahead an get it. Its a great car and if maintained properly, it will easily last a long time. Engine and drive train are great, interior will fall apart first.
