I've just been told that using cruise control on a car with an auto-transmission is the most fuel efficient option available but have no other facts, figures - just an opinion right now, can any one help? The car in question is a Honda Accord.
Its not just an opinion but a fact. Cruise control came alon in the late 60's -early 70's. When they came out in 1984 on "vettes average fuel ecomony and gallons of gas used . What the cruise does in steady acceration,downshifts going up grades or hills and people have a problem keeping a steady speed either due to inattentiveness,playing with the radio,talking on the phone or with a passenger. On today's roads / xpressways it might be hard to keep the cruise on due to traffic,but it is still the best way to maxinize MPG
